The Faculty of Arts is founding member of the University of Ljubljana which was established on the 3rd of December 1919. Today Faculty of Arts presents one of the biggest and most diverse member of University of Ljubljana. It has more than 5.000 students. Today it is possible to select from 76 different Humanities and Social Sciences study programmes at the Faculty of Arts. Most of the courses are double-subject, with students being free to choose which two subjects to study. If they enrol in one of the many single-subject programmes, they focus on that subject and do not study it in combination with other study programmes. In the first cycle of studies, or at the undergraduate level, students have a choice of 34 study programmes, and in the second cycle, or at the master's level, there are 41 study programmes. Of these, four are joint master's programmes, and 26 are pedagogical study programmes that qualify students to become teachers. A doctorate can be obtained in the interdisciplinary study programme Humanities and Social Sciences, which is carried out by the Faculty of Arts in conjunction with other faculties of University of Ljubljana. Our alumnus work as translators, psychologists, writers, poets, teachers, journalists, PR, actors, film directors, singers, philosophers, directors of cultural institutions etc.We have highly developed tutoring system, special adaptations for students with special needs and cultural activities. Faculty of Arts is very active at Erasmus+. The Centre of the Republic of Slovenia for Mobility and European Educational and Training Programmes (CMEPIUS) awarded our International Office for working with students at Erasmus programmes.Our research groups in Humanities and Social Studies are among top 10 in Slovenia. We are also engaged in international projects and programmes.
