Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) is a higher education institution under the Muhammadiyah association which was established on October 24, 1981, by Drs. H. Mohamad Djazman as a first university rector. At that time, UMS managed several faculties, such as the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Engineering, and the Faculty of Islamic Religion (FAI). Then, in line with the demands and needs of the times, currently, UMS continues to add and provide superior study programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate to doctoral levels.• Philosophy"Wacana Keilmuan dan Keislaman" (Scientific and Islamic Discourse) which means to grow a personality who masters science, technology, and art, to serve sincerely to God and provide benefits to the fellow ummah.• Visionby 2029, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta will become an Islamic Science Technology Education Development Center and provide guidance of change.• MissionMission Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta carries out two main missions, namely:‣ To Develop science, technology, and art as part of worship to Allah (integrated) which has an impact on the realization of the main community‣ To Develop human resources based on Islamic values and provide direction for change to create a commendable society.• Purpose‣ To become an Excellent University in Science, Technology, and Art fields‣ To Produce Qualified Graduates who held Islamic values‣ Become a sustainable university with good governance‣ Strengthening the reputation of UMS at the national and international levels‣ Acceleration of performance in the fields of research, community service, and scientific publications based on stakeholder needs
