University of Telecommunications and Post was founded in 1881 as a State School of Telegraph and Post. In 1923 with a decree № 60 King Boris III approves a law on opening a school for a practical and theoretical study of telegraphic and post office. The main goal of this school is to prepare officials for the General Directorate of the Ministry of Post and electricians for the army. The university got its present name with a decision of the National Assembly on May 26 2015. It trains graduates in specialties from professional directions "Communication and computer science" and "Administration and Management".Today the University of Telecommunications and Post trains more than 1,100 students in the specialties:- Telecommunications;- Telecommunication Networks;- Wireless Communications and Broadcasting;- Telecommunication Informatics;- Computer Administration of Software Applications;- Management and Information Technology in the Telecommunications
