Junior Design Director - University of Toronto Engineering K(C)ompetition (UTEK)
The University of Toronto Engineering Kompetition (UTEK) is an annual competition targeted towards undergraduate engineering students. The two day competition gives students the opportunity to use their classroom education to discuss and solve real engineering problems. These range from design problems, case competitions and even debates surrounding the challenges within engineering and society. UTEK encourages deep collaboration, teamwork, creativity, and ingenuity among students in all of its competitions.UTEK has been known as THE largest engineering competition at the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering at the University of Toronto. UTEK usually attracts over 500 future engineers overall. The top teams from UTEK then go on to successfully represent the university in both the Ontario Engineering Competition (OEC), and the Canadian Engineering Competition (CEC).The eight competitons are: consulting, programming, senior design, junior design, re-engineering, communications, debate and innovative design. For the upcoming 2020-2021 year, UTEK aims to enhance the networking experience of its participants by:• Providing students a platform to directly interact and network with industry sponsors in ways that go beyond their two days of the competition• Creating an opportunity for students to display their technical and problem solving skills in scenarios that mimic problems relevant to industry• Providing new students with a transition to university level competitions with a focus on providing skills for future competitions• Preparing, training and funding UTEK finalists to succeed in Ontario Engineering Competition (OEC) and Canadian Engineering Competition (CEC)On behalf of the University of Toronto Engineering Kompetition, we would be delighted to have your involvement at our upcoming competition in January 2021.Please contact utek@skule.ca regarding any questions or inquiries about how to get involved!
