The University of Nebraska Medical Center's Nebraska Pediatric Clinical Trials Unit (NPCTU) was established in 2016 as part of the IDeA States Pediatric Network. These 17 states were awarded funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to participate in their Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) program. ECHO's mission is "to enhance the health of children for generations to come." There are five main pediatric focus areas that were chosen based on their ability to dramatically impact public health. These include upper and lower airways, pediatric obesity, pre-, peri-, and post-natal care, neurodevelopment, and positive child health. Clinical trials relating to each of these areas are in development and will be coming soon! If you are interested in participating in any of our trials as either a subject or an investigator, please let us know. The NPCTU is supported by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health & Human Development of the National Institutes of Health, Grant Number 1UG1HD090903-01.
