UNPACKED is a DIY artist space on wheels. The independent exhibition space is a "Mobile Gallery" or "Pop-Up Truck Show." This truck turned showroom allows for guerrilla art shows around the city of Chicago.Finding and affording gallery space is typically a difficult and expensive venture. It has occurred to this team of DeKalb-based artists that a more cost-effective way to conduct a pop-up show in the city is to rent a truck and get permission to park it. Being part of an artist-run space is an excellent way to strengthen our local and global networks and support the informal or formal goals of these experimental cultural centers.
