UNSW Materials Science and Engineering Society Details

The Materials Science and Engineering Student Society (MATSOC) is the constituent society for all Materials Science and Engineering students at the University of New South Wales. Since our re-emergence in 2013, MATSOC is now run by a committee of 17 dedicated students, ranging from first to fifth year and from a variety of different Materials Science streams. As of 2018, our society was home to 318 undergraduate students, of which 170 were engaged in our various social and professional events. Our goal is to promote a close-knit community involving the students, school and industrial partners as we realised the value of building long-lasting connections. With the help of our sponsors, Cochlear Ltd. and Pallion Group, we are able to provide more events for our students to engage with industry. Our goals for the future will include continuing to nurture the school community and the relationships with industry that have been developed over the past year. We aim to achieve our goals by realising more social and networking opportunities as well as beginning new initiatives in Australia-wide engineering challenges and student led activities to encourage our students' development as Materials Scientists and Engineers.None of this would be possible without the help of our sponsors, Cochlear Ltd. and Pallion Group, we are able to provide more events for our students
