Hi there! We are a team of determined students making change in the energy-storage realm. Powered by UNSW's Vertically Integrated Projects program, our aim is to find new ways to store energy to assist in the transition to cleaner energy consumption. Our main project has been the development of a Vanadium Redox-Flow cell. Despite some challenges with this technology, we believe there is huge potential. Vanadium storage technology can be extremely flexible is design, where the power and energy capacities are independent of one another. As it is a liquid that stores energy, cells can be emptied and "filled up" just like an engine in a car. The NextGen team hopes to unlock this potential and find new ways to improve the technology's efficiency and impact on the planet.
