The fashion industry needs to clean up its act. It is responsible for 10% of global CO2 emissions, 20% of global waste water and 30% of the micro-plastic entering our oceans. We send 39 million tonnes of clothing to landfill every year.We buy twice as much as we did 10 years ago, yet up to 70% of the clothes in our wardrobe sit there unworn. We have to make a change.UNTAGGED is a digital platform that connects people to exchange their pre-loved, unworn clothes with friends and neighbours, creating a sustainable fashion community.Unlike other clothes-borrowing platforms that focus on rental of high-end occasion-wear, we want to fundamentally change how we clothe ourselves every day. We will encourage like-minded women who love fashion but want to reduce their negative impact on our planet to meet face-to-face to share their everyday clothes, rent their higher value pieces, and ultimately, co-buy their future items, creating a sustainable fashion eco-system. Where AirBnb normalised sharing of homes, Share-wear will normalise sharing of clothes.
