Untitled|Collective is a world unique Inter-cultural, Inter-discipline, and Inter-national arts entity. Founded by Choreographer Ian RT Colless and Composer Madeleine Johns in 2008 - Brisbane, Australia. At first the Collective was established with a desire to engage in critical and cultural dialogue between non-Indigenous and Indigenous people living in the context of Australia. However, with time, the Collective broadened their dialogue, gathering artists from a variety of cultural backgrounds including their networks in Australia, America, Canada, France, Uganda and Israel. The artists vary from project to project determined by location.The Collective fosters the opportunity for authentic collaborative exchange between cultures advocating a rare environment for international performance outcomes and artistic development. Pre-dominantly a dance community, this establishment has been commissioned to create works at the Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater (NYC), La MaMa Moves Dance Festival (Off-Off-Broadway, NYC), The Queens Fringe Festival (NYC), Summer Stage Central Park (NYC), The Australian Consulate (NYC), RUBABOO Arts Festival (Canada) hosted by Alberta Aboriginal Arts, The Brisbane Festival's ‘Indigenous Closing Ceremony' (Brisbane), LINK Dance Company (Perth), DirtyFeet (Sydney), to name a few, and the United Nations' Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (NYC).
