Upstate Watercraft Promotions Inc (UWP) has established the largest national pro-am watercross tour in the USA with all eyes drawn to the racing action at each and every tour stop. The tour currently travels to five key markets across the country from May to August attracting both national and international competitors. UWP in conjunction with the International Jet Sport Boating Association (IJSBA) each year present the UWP-IJSBA Watercross National Tour which travels throughout the summer months and showcases the country's top professional watercross racers. Each tour stop carried a guaranteed purse of $13,500 in cash with and additional $10,000 at the Nationals in Charleston, WV, a total of $91,000 in prize money – this means that the 2010 UWP-IJSBA Watercross National Tour gave away over $160,000 in cash & prizes.Watercross or sometime known as "jetski racing" is as exciting to watch as it is to experience and is comparable to motocross on the water; closed course racing is handle bar-to-handle bar competition that pits rider and machine in a personal watercraft battlefield.
