UR Community Cares, Inc. links Community Members with Volunteers by town and the services they need (Community Deeds). Community Member age requirement is 70 years old and/or 18+ physically disabled. Volunteers (15yo+ with parental consent) and Community Members have background checks performed to provide added safety for verification of each participant before they have access to scheduling Community Deeds. Community Members sign up on our website to have help with: Yardwork, Housework, Companion and Transportation, at no cost. As a nation, we are preparing for the crisis that will occur in the next 5-10 years, with 10,000 Baby Boomers retiring every day, this population can have a very difficult time physically caring for their homes and can have limited ability to perform activities. Many live on fixed incomes and unable to pay for private caregivers, many have family that have passed or moved away and need help to stay in their home as they are aging.Our goal is for people to Nurture UR Neighborhood in every town because UR COMMUNITY CARES. We are a non-profit that is working to help reduce falls/hospitalizations for the population that are lonely due to surgery, illness or mobility limitations.
