Architecture Firm/Engineering Firm - N/A, N/A, BE
The company was founded by architects David Claus, Dieter Delbaere and David Niville. Their cooperation started in 2007 with the selection for the Open Call 1303, a competition supervised by the Flemish Government Architect. The cooperation continued, resulting in a diverse portfolio of projects for various programs at different scales. The collective is now working on the renovation and new construction of housing, residential and care centers, offices and public buildings. Yet urbain architectencollectief is also active in the field of urban projects: masterplanning, image quality plans, redevelopment and urban design. The members of the collective all have different experiences in a range of fields, which are today shared and reflected in the daily operation of the practice. Each assignment begins with the questioning of the initial demand. The base of every design process starts with a clear and sharp definition of the design question. Subsequently the collective questions the mental and physical meaning of the project context. Both aspects, the sharpness of the demand and the understanding of the context are a breeding ground for the design process. urbain architectencollectief implements creativity, ingenuity and inventiveness into the design process. Simultaneously the process is characterized by a realistic, pragmatic and economic attitude. Obviously the collective has an important and permanent focus on ecologic, social and cultural-historical aspects
