Architecture & Planning - Houston, Texas, United States
Urban Architecture (UAH, Inc.) was founded by Paul E. Martin, AIA, in 1973 and has been active in forging new perspectives for the practice of architecture in Texas. Urban Architecture has been a leader in the development community, designing commercial office buildings and retail projects. The firm was the first to design back-lighted signs for retail centers (the Spectrum Shopping Center at Fountainview and Westheimer and The Corner Market at T.C. Jester and FM 1960). Residentially, Urban Architecture led the design community in the development of the Houston West End "tin houses" (see the Houston Architectural Guide - second edition, by Steven Fox and published by the Houston Chapter of the American Institute of Architects). Urban Architecture was restructured in January 2000 and is now focused on providing professional consulting services to the "user" communityThe President and Secretary/Treasurer is Paul E.
