The vision of Urban Business Support (UrbanBiz) is "development without displacement." We recognize the benefits of economic development in low-income communities, but we believe investment should come to the benefit of those who live and work there. Our mission is to provide local business owners with the educational and financial resources necessary to retain diversity of business ownership in economically developing neighborhoods. We provide business, personal finance, and leadership education to existing small businesses in neighborhoods that are currently or on the verge of experiencing gentrification. The skills Urban Business Support imparts provide the tools for existing small businesses to adapt, survive, and grow in the changing marketplace emerging around them.
