Ureika was founded in 2006 to meet the needs for energy conservation. We were the first company to propose using strong design and visualization as a way to save energy. From the utility company's perspective, saving energy is FAR cheaper than adding new powerplants.We grew our idea into a full fledged business model ready to meet the challenges of today's energy conservation initiatives. The challenge is no longer about proving the idea is effective and works, but rather about implementing it across various local distribution companies (LDCs) in Canada, America and the rest of the world.Providing consumers their "Ureika moment" and making the energy conservation connection in the minds of the consumers is what we're truly passionate about. Employing the latest in social engagement technology coupled with targeted messaging, multi-channel engagement and repetitive marketing strategy we're building an energy conservation platform that LDCs can use to not only drive conservation initiatives, but also build powerful positive brand awareness while at the same time opening many avenues of communication with their user base.Update 2017: The world is moving toward sustainability and a much has changed since we started. We've influenced the markets which includes large players including Positive Energy (which became O-Power, now sold to Oracle). We our proceeding to re-publish our early design work, including our early provisional patents, design files, and design competition documents. We published first and we think the world should benefit in an open manner. It has come to our attention that some companies may have applied for and hold patents that would be nullified by our early work. We intend to challenge these patents, pursue these companies and ensure the markets remain open to innovation.
