Broadcast Media - Paris, Île-de-France, France
Created under the double patronage of UNESCO and Radiodiffusion Française, this union has been organising the exchanges of audiovisual contents since 1949 among its radio members, and since 1957 in television. URTI has more than sixty members which strengthen their resources by exchanging programmes, participating in training workshops, and optimize their means thanks to co-productions. In radio as well as in television URTI members benefit from a catalogue of exchanges of programmes free of rights which represent an offer with no equivalent in the world. More than 2000 documentaries supplied by television channels are thus put at the members's disposal for free after having been selected by the Television Commission. The radio members use a new Web exchange platform on which they directly download and send programmes. URTI programmes can be consulted thanks to the search engine of a secure Web site (http://www.urti.org) which allows to listen to or view extracts. Produced in a lot of languages and on every subject, these programmes are ordered by channels which broadcast them very widely on their territories. URTI organises the International Radio Grand Prix and the one for Author's Documentary in the framework of the prestigious Monte Carlo Television Festival. These prizes of international renown allow to promote the dynamism of the contemporary audiovisual production.
