U.S. Aragonite Enterprises LLC was formed to market the Oshenite® brand to the plastics industry; a renewable ultra pure precipitated mineral, naturally sourced from the pristine waters of the Bahamas with unique application performance. The company is renewing plastics as it implements its mission to introduce, promote and deliver to those companies looking to decrease their dependence on fossil fuels, the unique economic, performance and sustainability benefits of Oshenite® - "the world's only renewable performance mineral." In plastics, Oshenite's unique crystalline structure allows the reduction of plastic resin usage by up to 50%. Adding Oshenite® provides down gauging options while enhancing the physical and performance characteristics of your product. Oshenite® is oolitic aragonite which precipitates continually as ultra 97-99% pure calcium carbonate in the shoals of the Bahama Bank and not near coral reefs. The harvesting rights area naturally produces approximately 2 million tons each year in addition to the over 1 billion tons currently in reserve. Far less is harvested than processed.
