U.S.-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water (USPCAS-W), has been established at Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) Jamshoro, with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).The United States Government through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Government of Pakistan through the Higher Education Commission (HEC) have partnered together to create state of art centers for advanced studies. The U.S.-PAK Centers for Advanced Studies in Water (USPCAS-W) have been designed by the United States Government and Government of Pakistan to support Pakistan's economic development by strengthening universities and encouraging applied research. USPCAS-W have been designed to leverage economic development in Pakistan through applied research in energy, water, and agriculture and food security.USPCAS-W is a state of the art and modern applied research centre, it is a world-class education and applied research center dedicated to resolving Pakistan's water crises through applied research, developing specialist human resource and technologies; academia-industry collaboration; and policy formulation.The centre will generate cost-effective and sustainable solutions to Pakistan's challenges related to water and educate the next generation of scientists, engineers, and policy makers through innovative academic programs in water that are focused on applied research to solve Pakistan's contemporary problems. USPCAS-W is encouraging and empowering women scientists and researchers to actively participate in applied research to solve Pakistan's contemporary problems.
