Utah Personnel Development Center Details
To meet the personnel development needs of local education agencies (LEAs) a Comprehensive System of Personnel Development (CSPD) was organized in 1980 by the Utah State Office of Education. Between 1980 and 2014 the CSPD consortium board, a state leadership team representing Utah's LEAs, provided direction for statewide CSPD activities. The board actively supported Utah Learning Resource Center/Utah Personnel Development Center staff in delivering high-quality professional development to educators throughout the state. ULRC/UPDC staff members provided services to special educators, related service providers, general educators, administrators, paraprofessionals, and parents from all 41 school districts and charter schools in Utah. They also collaborated with the Utah State Office of Education, Utah Parent Center, and institutions of higher education to help build school and district capacity and sustainability for using evidence-based practices, and to facilitate positive outcomes for students with disabilities.
