Philanthropy - Provo, Utah, United States
Our mission is to help refugees in Utah Valley become successful, contributing and valued members of the community. The refugee Action Network was formed in April 2016. Until that point, refugees were not being resettled in Utah Valley, due to a lack of affordable housing (i.e. Section 8 – government subsidized) near public transportation. To overcome these obstacles meant innovating. It meant rethinking the existing models of refugee resettlement. The concept and design of the Refugee Action Network resulted from seeking creative solutions to these problems – along with identifying ways for all the wonderful and willing people of Utah Valley to provide meaningful and life-changing relief for refugees.
