Utrecht City Opera Details
We are a young upcoming opera company based in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Our story began in 2013 when we set up to produce an entire opera from scratch as a part as of our master studies. Our goal was to create a fresh and modern reinterpretation of a classic operatic piece and gather around our colleagues that felt the same level of professional enthusiasm. After an overwhelming support we received for La serva padrona from the audience, we have decided to continue our efforts and put our focus into bringing new opera productions to life and bringing Utrecht into the operatic limelight of Europe. Since Pétur and I have met at the Utrecht conservatory where we both completed our studies, we have had multiple chances to collaborate with great upcoming young professionals who share the same passion for musicianship and performing. Our desire is to keep on gathering young talents with new ideas to share, individual creativity to show and constantly exploring new ways to communicate with the audiences of the XXI century.
