The structural testing laboratory provides large-scale testing services to the research and private sectors. The laboratory is outfitted with two universal testing machines (300 and 2400 kip capacity), large, cyclic actuators with capacities up to 20 inch stroke and 450 kips. Examples of recent commercial tests include tension tests on large diameter bars (up to 3 inches), tests on large cardboard boxes, and compression tests for marine fenders. If you have questions about testing in the laboratory, please contact the laboratory director Professor Dawn Lehman, delehman@uw.edu, or the laboratory manager, Vince Chaijareon, vchaijar@uw.edu
