Clay Valstad offers decades of retail, logistics and reverse logistics experience to help retailers or manufactures develop or optimize their performance and improve their P & L. Clay spend 39 years working with Sears and all of Sears companies and therefore understands the real world of what it takes to operate an effective retail organization. Clay also spent 14 years in Sears corporate offices with assignments in retail store operations, finance, planning, logistics and reverse logistics. Clay ran the reverse logistics programs for all Sears companies for 12 years including store point of sale customer returns, store back room return processes, transportation, managing central return centers, working with buyers and vendors, managing product quality analysis, return to vendor programs, liquidation, returns reporting and returns accounting. This experience also includes managing third party logistics providers including contract negotiations, managing 3PL performance, developing new processes and contributing to software integration and improvements. After retiring from Sears as VP Reverse Logistics and Specialty Distribution, Clay spend 4 years as a VP Reverse Logistics for GENCO ATC. This experience allowed Clay view the same industry from the eyes of a 3PL provider. It also allowed Clay to work with other retailers and manufactures such Best Buy, Target, Dell, Kohl's, Walmart, etc Clay also has experience in working with retailers in Canada and United Kingdom.
