Vance Automation LLC is an automation company specializing in designing and constructing control systems for manufacturing and utility industries. The founder, Jack Ryan PE, worked officially as a system integrator from 1998 to 2001 doing work for Pioneer Flour, DPT Labs, and Columbia Bowling Balls in San Antonio. From 2002 to 2016 worked as a SCADA Engineer for LCRA building a control network to monitor and manage Substations throughout the LCRA System. Recently he worked as a Senior Analyst for ERCOT specializing in Identity Access Management specializing in NERC CIP compliance at both ERCOT and LCRA for the last 15 years. However, Jack has never lost his passion for programming PLCs and has cultivated new clients in the Rodeo Rope Industry programming PLCs and OITs for machines that produce Rodeo Rope since 2002. In September 2016 Jack formed Vance Automation naming the company after the family name of his father and grandfather. Over the last year the company has produced control panels for two projects and is currently seeking new clients.He is fluent with SCADA Protocols such as DNP, OPC, DDE, Modbus, Allen Bradley DF1, 485, Control Net and others. He's well versed on networks and serial communications standards and can troubleshoot control wiring and configurations of PLC and HMI Software as well as issues related to data historians and Databases.Currently Vance Automation is a Certified System Integrator for Wonderware's Indusoft HMI Software.
