Education/Training - Vancouver, BC, CA
The Vancouver Latin American Cultural Centre Society (VLACC) was incorporated in 2012 with a mandate to nurture and enhance the knowledge and appreciation of Latin American arts and culture in Vancouver. Our mission is "to contribute to the education and cultural legacy of all Canadians by exploring and sharing a deeper understanding of Latin American arts and culture", through a schedule of year-round multi-disciplinary and intergenerational programming. Our vision is to create social and artistic experiences that connect people by developing artists' and audiences' relationships to Latin American arts and culture, to each other, and themselves. Our goal is to create a new physical creative hub centre for the work of Latin American artists and organizations recognizes the rapidly expanding cultural significance of our community within the greater Vancouver region. Vancouver has over 200 Latin American cultural (indoor) events happening annually, without the benefit of a dedicated space that could provide more context and visibility.
