The VC10 Preservation Group are the privileged custodians of Vickers VC10 K4 ZD241. Originally operated by BOAC and later British Airways as G-ASGM, the aircraft was later converted to a 3-point air-to-air refuelling tanker and served with the RAF from 1995 until 2013. The aircraft is now owned by GJD Services and is maintained in a taxiable condition by the VC10 Preservation Group - a team of volunteers - at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire. In the process of attaining Charitable Trust status, the VC10 Preservation Group is funded through the sale of branded merchandise, group memberships, revenue from engineering and taxiing events, photography group events, corporate sponsorship and public donations. All funds raised will be used for the maintenance and operation of ZD241 in order to preserve this special example of British aviation heritage in a taxiable condition, providing the public with a unique experiential opportunity to see, hear and feel this marvel of engineering and design up close for years to come.Additional activities and events in the STEM field provide hands-on experience for aspiring young engineers and aircrew from the local community's schools and colleges, infinitely enhanced by the wealth of knowledge and experience of the group's volunteers. For more information, please visit:www.vc10preservationgroup.orgFacebook: ZD241 - VC10 Preservation GroupTwitter: @ZD241_VC10Instagram: zd241_vc10
