We started with a simple enough idea. But it came from an odd place.Troubled by a cumbersome data-entry process on mobile apps, we wondered if we could use the camera to capture data? And if we took several pictures and strung them together, what could that do? Wouldn't that be, basically, frames of a video? The more we explored it, the more we realized an astonishing fact: We know all about the stuff of websites, data that enables everything from deceptively simple search to uber-sophisticated advertising, but we know next to nothing about the data within video. With its explosive growth in production & consumption, what happens if we unlock that video data?We wanted to create a company dedicated to surfacing the "genome" of video content — hence our name, Veenome — and empower industries & developers to leverage it for applications we could only begin to imagine. Our mission is to create a platform that unlocks the data within video to help people know what they show.
