Veiove Animal Health was founded to focus on the veterinary pharmaceutical applications of the products developed by the research supply company Advanced Targeting Systems (ATS). ATS has been a pioneer in the use of targeted toxins to eliminate specific cells and their products and techniques have been used for over 20 years to create better animal models in research applications. Veiove Animal Health is a privately held company seeking a partnership to help translate a collection of IP assets under its control into a growth-stage animal health therapeutics corporation.The immediate focus for Veiove will be on the patented chronic pain drug, Substance P-Saporin (SP-SAP). SP-SAP has already demonstrated pivotal-study efficacy in bone cancer-associated pain in dogs (>10,000 cases per year). Clinical studies are in the planning stages to evaluate the effectiveness of SP-SAP in the almost 10 million cases of osteoarthritis in dogs, as well as chronic pain in cats. The Center for Veterinary Medicine (CVM) at the FDA has already approved Minor Use/Minor Species (MUMS) designation for SP-SAP, providing extended market exclusivity, similar to Orphan status for human therapeutics.In addition, Veiove is in pre-clinical development of a proprietary pipeline of products built upon the same therapeutic strategy and methodology as SP-SAP.
