Vietnam Hockey Company was formed on 2nd February 2012 as a social enterprise to represent Vietnamese interests and raise funds to promote and develop field hockey in Vietnam. In December the same year the construction of the first Vietnam Hockey Center started near Ben Luc Town, Long Dinh Commune, Can Duoc District, Long An Province to house a sport training center for both hockey players and coaches.The Hockey Centre was completed and opened by the Professor Lam Quang Thanh, the Vice-President of Vietnam Olympic Council on 8 June 2013. The Hockey Centre not only offers hockey training and coaching, it is also an events venue for hockey and other sports like soccer, kite flying, darts and touch rugby.Vietnam Hockey has 5 key objectives which are (1) to form the Vietnam Hockey Federation, (2) to provide organizational direction to develop hockey, (3) to promote hockey to schools and univesities nationwide, (4) to help form hockey clubs throughout Vietnam and (5) to prepare both men and women hockey teams for the South East Asian Games in 2013, 2015 and 2017 and the Asia Games in 2019.
