Local Government providing public services to residents and businesses of the community. The Village provides 24 hour 7 days a week police protection with a volunteer fire department and produces its own water and picks up trash and recyclables. The Village of Hartford is home to Hartford's Seventh Street Park, Veteran's Memorial, Woodrow Wilson Community Building, Elmar Hart Park and the newly openend Lewis and Clark Confluence Tower. The Villlage is also home to the Lewis and Clark Historic Site #1 of the National Lewis and Clark Historic Trail and the beginning of the Meeting of the Great Rivers National Scenic Byway. The Village is looking for tourism as well as industrial partners to provide employment to our citizens.
