Arts & Crafts - Budapest, Budapest, Hungary
The VILTIN Gallery committed itself to the representation of the Hungarian and international contemporary art at its foundation in 2008. By covering various generations of artists, the gallery plays a significant role in the Hungarian art scene. VILTIN represents contemporary masters with relevant international reference, mid-generation artists who are shaping the current artistic landscape of Hungary, as well as young, emerging talents.VILTIN's program features the experimental potential of artistic practices based on the reinterpretation of the traditional art genres, which unfold themselves in progressive and medial varied ways. Its special focus lies on the characteristics of contemporary painting with its reflections on the classical modernity, as well as on the ever-widening installative tendencies of works on paper. International positions of representative and abstract, along with concept-based art in the areas of painting, sculpture, installations and photography have also maintained a continuous presence in the program of the gallery. Besides providing a regular visibility to its artists by the exhibition program, the gallery takes part in leading international art fairs in order to assure a high-standard regional and a wider international professional embeddedness. Aside from presenting solo exhibitions of its artists, also pays attention to the current artistic tendencies in the form of curated group exhibitions. The mission of the VILTIN Gallery is to strengthen the role of contemporary fine art in the Hungarian culture; furthermore, to introduce Hungarian talents to the international audience. These intentions are based on a stable circle of collectors who are opened to contemporary art, and accomplished with the cooperation of professional partners and a wider public being interested in visual culture.
