(VAA) has been working to keep aviation history alive.The Mission of the VAA is to:• Encourage and aid the retention and restoration of historical Antique, Classic and Contemporary aircraft;• Establish a library devoted to the history of aviation and to the construction, repair, restoration, maintenance and preservation of aircraft, particularly historical Antique, Classic and Contemporary aircraft and engines;• Host meetings, displays and educational programs relating to aviation with emphasis on restoration, maintenance and care of historical Antique, Classic and Contemporary aircraft;• Improve aviation safety and aviation education;• Band together those persons interested in historical Antique, Classic and Contemporary aircraft for their mutual pleasure, recreation and education.VAA is managed by a member-elected Board of Directors, all volunteers, and an Executive Administrator at our headquarters in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.In addition to our work at local chapters and regional events, each summer VAA members gather for a week or more at Wittman Field, Oshkosh for our annual convention, EAA OSHKOSH AirVenture, the world's greatest airshow. Nearly 1000 restored and preserved vintage aircraft are on display each year extending over a mile along the airshow runway.
