What is VEM?VEM creatively & uniquely tells stories using video, social and podcasts to connect small businesses with their audience.Our Story – The BeginningMy name is Scott Cunningham. I'm the owner here at Visual Element Media. I started getting into video and filmmaking as a senior in high school. Before then, I was mostly into sports and outdoor activities. During my senior year YouTube started to become popular. I started to watch videos and I was really intrigued by how people were able to do visual effect and tell stories through video. I was challenged by that and I wanted to see if I was able to replicate what they were able to do.I gathered all the money I possibly could and I went out and bought my first Mini DV Tape video camera. I started recording as many little videos as I could and learning how to incorporate angles and lighting. Soon after I began filming dance recitals, sporting events and even ballroom dancing. Eventually I began getting some professional gigs for businesses.My Setback & GrowthAs I starting getting some more clients I was hit with a big set back. My two biggest clients needed quality of production that I wasn't able to produce at the time so they let me go. Devastated, I had to pick myself up and start fresh. I moved to Pittsburgh where I rebuilt the company. Now I was integrating social media management into our services and the company began to grow.As the business grew, so did my family. As my wife and I were expecting our second child, we decided it was best for us to move to Ebensburg. We opened a studio and added our third service: podcasts. My Everyday GoalsEach day we are working to produce the highest quality of video, social, and podcast possible.
