We give the gift of sight to machines. We build computational imaging systems that symbiotically blend computer algorithms and imaging hardware. If successful, computational imaging has the potential to unleash an era of superhuman robotics. Imagine a world where search-and-rescue robots could sense survivors through dense smoke. Imagine a world where surgical robots could perform impossible surgeries by seeing details invisible to human doctors. That is the world we imagine. Visual Machines Group is led by Achuta Kadambi, Assistant Professor at University of California, Los Angeles. Our lab is in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of UCLA.
