VitalMetric has been formed to bring a unique technology to the dairy industry. This technology is the application of Microwave Doppler Radar in the monitoring of important dairy cow biometric data such as pulse, respiration, and rumination. We will succeed because we offer an opportunity for the forward looking dairyman to begin reversing the 25 year upward trend in Dairy Cow mortality rates. The Industry has seen mortality rates in its large commercial dairies rise from less than 4% to 8-10%. These large dairies account for 60% of the milk produced and lead the way in production levels, quality, cost, and the application of technology. As herds get larger it is more difficult for managers to evaluate cows closely. The VitalMetric technology will allow the dairyman to receive this biometric data at every milking and without incurring labor cost in its collection. With this information the dairyman will be able to monitor herd health in total and the condition of individual cows specifically and then take the appropriate action when deemed necessary in a timely manner guaranteed to improve herd health and animal welfare. We anticipate the introduction of standard product for the industry in the first quarter of 2017.
