Vivace Music Center is located at 28 N Market St in Selinsgrove, PA. The building itself has an interesting history. The 7,114 sq ft Victorian mansion was built in 1880 as the residence of a prominent local attorney. In 1889, it was purchased by Sigfried Weis (of Weis Markets). Most recently, it was "J. Kleinbauer's" clothing store for the past nearly 50 years. Vivace Music Center has it's own unique history too! Founded as "Vivace Piano Studio" in November 2014, Nate (the owner) started offering piano lessons, piano lesson method books, and piano sheet music from his home (in the village of Mazeppa, a very small town outside of Lewisburg, PA). Realizing the need for a full-service music store in the area (the next closest being either an hour north or an hour south), Nate decided to open one in Selinsgrove, PA, (and Vivace Piano Studio became Vivace Music Center)! He opened in a 1200 square feet space at 32 S Market St in March of 2015. In October of that year, he realized he was outgrowing the space and started to look for other options. Noticing the former Kleinbauer building sat vacant for roughly a year and seeing the potential of the space, he started renovations on December 1, 2015 and opened in the new building February 1, 2016. Vivace Music Center features a selection of sheet music, music-themed gifts, and music accessories (reeds, strings, music stands, guitar picks, instrument cases, instrument stands, mutes, drumheads, tuners, capos, guitar picks, etc.). We also offer instruments (for sale and rent-to-own) as well as instrument repairs and an instrument maintenance plan. We have a 400 square foot multi-purpose room equipped with a digital piano, projector, and tables/seating/music stands as needed; perfect for group workshops or small ensembles to rehearse. We offer music lessons for several instruments on-site. We also have a 40-seat concert room; perfect for recitals and small concerts.
