VNP Software was founded in 1990 by Paul King and Van Simmon in Cambridge, MA. As an early adopter of the NeXT platform and the Objective-C language, Van and Paul developed VNP into a highly regarded software products and services firm. One of VNP's most popular products within the NeXT community - the AccessKit, an object-relational persistence framework - was an influence on the development of NeXT's Enterprise Objects Framework, a precursor to Apple's current Core Data Framework.
