We help people who want to volunteer to find suitable roles, and we work with organisations to find suitable volunteers for their needs. Voluntary work is work done of one's own free will, unpaid, for the common good. Aroha ki te Takata a Rohe.Services we deliver: Recruit, train and support volunteers to assist organisations and people in need Provide information and resources Train and support organisations which involve volunteers Promote the value of voluntary work Support and train Volunteer Managers/Coordinators Advocate for volunteers and voluntary organisationsOur objectives and guiding principles: Uphold the rights and responsibilities of volunteers Recruit volunteers, educate them about voluntary work, and support them to assist not-for-profit organisations, charitable organisations, and people in need Provide and promote information and resources on volunteering Provide training and support for organisations which involve volunteers Increase awareness of the value of voluntary work, which is part of a wider definition of work Promote cross cultural understanding where the unique role of tangata whenua is recognised Operate efficiently and effectively as a model for other voluntary organisations.
