VoxSpot is a social media mobile app that lets users share their perspectives of life in their local area through photos and videos of what they see and experience in their cities and streets.Users share photos, videos or 90-sec live broadcasts of information related to their local area - for instance local events, news-worthy sightings, dining experience, shopping experience, transport topics, opinions and more.VoxSpot has a robust and user-friendly interface that features a real time google map (where photos and videos shared by users are pinned on the map) and a browsing interface with search and filters that let users easily see pins nearby, pins that are trending, pins that have recently been shared and pins of users that they follow.Users engage and interact through comments in the form of real time public group chats, as well as likes and shares.VoxSpot lets users who have an Instagram account to share and pin their instagram posts in VoxSpot, enabling them to create a niche local audience for their Instagram posts. Whenever a user pins the map in VoxSpot, they have the option to Tweet the content directly to their Twitter account as well.VoxSpot handpicks certain pins shared by users and features them in its trending pins section in the app. At the moment, VoxSpot is running a campaign where users can accrue AUD $1 as a reward each time their pins are featured by VoxSpot. Additionally, they also accrue AUD $1 each time a friend signs up and likes a pin in the app. Once they have accrued AUD $20, they may opt to have the balance transferred directly to their PayPal account.Unlike the existing mainstream major social media, VoxSpot is focused mainly on location relevant content, shared by real users at or near those locations, with a goal to ultimately provide users with a helpful or meaningful source of real time information on those locations.
