VR Dreams is a startup in China, on a mission to improve the quality of mental healthcare by using VR/AR/MR technology for clinical research, assessment, and treatment.The tools therapists use to administer treatment are severely outdated. Today most therapists are still limited to either asking the patient to imagine a scenario. It's time to change that.We are cooperating with West China Hospital of Sichuan University which is the 2nd hospital in China. In 2016, more than 7.5 million patients visited the outpatient department. The Mental Health Center(MHC) of West China Hospital is one of the four major bases for mental health in the country with over 250 thousand mental patients last year.We designed VR simulations to deliver exposure therapy for specific phobias such as for height and public speaking.Now we are developing VR for the assessment and rehabilitation of children attention (such as ADHD). In this project, we also introduced the eye-tracking in our VR devices for more objective measurement data.In the future, we plan to develop a VR assessment and treatment platform including acute pain, generalized anxiety disorders, PTSD, depression, Neuro-cognitive disorders and drug and alcohol abuse.
