With over 2 billion smartphones in the world, mobile VR has the most potential to bring VR to the masses. Unfortunately, its current input options are limited; which limits building the rich & immersive VR experiences that can be found on high-end VR platforms. Real walking input -as enabled using positional tracking- is most immersive for VR navigation and least likely to cause cybersickness, but this is not available on mobile VR platforms. Walking-in-place (WIP) closely approximates real walking and offers the same benefits.
