Are you living with HIV? Are you an individual who is not HIV positive, but are directly affected by the disease (family, parents, caregivers, partners, etc.)? Do you live in Northeastern Oklahoma? We are here to help support individuals living with HIV, as well as family members, significant others and friends of people living with HIV receive guidance and gain support in their journey.Wagoner HIV Support Group was founded in 2022 as a compassionate response to the growing need for HIV support in smaller communities and rural areas in Oklahoma. Our live support group provides prevention and care support that promotes dignity, equity, and optimal health.An HIV diagnosis can be very isolating, as people frequently cut themselves off from the world when diagnosed with HIV. Wagoner HIV Support Group offers the chance to interact with other people who are likely to have a common purpose and likely to understand one another, but the real power of our peer-led support group is getting the opportunity to share, listen, teach and learn with others also impacted by HIV, directly or indirectly. The group members have been on the same or similar road and supporting one another is a wonderful opportunity to know that you are not going through this alone.Many people are not comfortable in opening up about their sexual problems and feel a stigma about your diagnosis. We understand that because of these issues you may feel overwhelmed with a variety of emotions and questions. HIV-related struggles can be challenging and finding people who can be there for you is important. Know that you are not going through this alone. Regardless of where you are on your journey, we are committed to helping you achieve your personal and health goals.It may be that you are struggling to cope, are seeking advice or education, or simply desire a sense of community among others like you.
