Nonprofit Organization Management - Bastrop, Texas, United States
Rescue, rehabilitate and outreach are the three components that define Wags. But rescue alone is not enough. This is why we've expanded beyond dog rescue to fulfill a larger mission that will save more lives in the future. Our MissionAccessible care - We offer low cost/free spay and neuter, vaccines, and microchipping services. This tackles the problem of animal overpopulation right at the source and supports pet owners in accessing healthcare for their pets. We've already seen the positive impact this program has including lower intake numbers and increased participation by pet owners.Keep pets in their homes - We create permanent, healthy bonds between pets and their families. This includes working within our community to provide spay and neuter services, vaccinations, and microchipping through our donation-funded Spay Day program. By helping with training, supplies, spay/neuter, vaccines, and pet deposits, we assist pet owners that may be struggling to provide basic care for their beloved pets, ultimately keeping those pets in their home and out of the shelter. Be a community resource & partner with law enforcement - We assist local law enforcement with neglect, hoarding, cruelty, and abandonment cases. Our partnerships open up communication regarding animal welfare laws and allow us a platform within our city and county forums to bring issues and challenges facing companion animals directly to lawmakers in our area. Rescue - We offer victims of abuse, neglect and abandonment a safe space to heal and find their perfect home with no time constraints. We also offer a lifetime of support to our adopters. Each pet adopted through our Wags Hope and Healing program is part of our Wags family. We provide counseling and resources should any issues arise.
