Mission Statement Wahupa Educational Services facilitates equal access to the educational system for all members of the community and especially for those who come from families with limited incomes, or who belong to groups that are traditionally underrepresented in higher education. Management Philosophy Wahupa exists to administer pre-college counseling programs funded 100% by the U.S. Department of Education, and to bring these services to as many low-income and underrepresented students and families as possible. Our chief priorities therefore must be: 1.Fiscal integrity in administering federal funds. 2.Compliance with the program services and outcomes specified in our grants, and with federal regulations. 3.Delivery of services and activities to the members of the low-income and underrepresented community in a sincere effort to help provide equal access to education. About us Wahupa Educational Services, a community-based non-profit organization funded 100% by the U.S. Dept. of Education TRIO Programs. Wahupa began in the community of San Diego in 1973 and has since then served primarily low-income and first-generation college bound students. Currently, we run four educational programs to benefit high school students (Grades 9-12) and adults in assistance with improving their academic performance and offering support and guidance in realizing their college dreams. The programs aim primarily at students of low income families and help them with high school completion, counseling, tutoring, college and financial aid guidance throughout the school year.
