Wantland Ink provides creative, quality site design, land planning, and construction documentation for discerning clientele. Principal Isaac Wantland couples a comprehensive knowledge of natural systems with a penchant for detailed design. We also provide site analysis, selection, and evaluation services. Based in Nashville, Tennessee, while practicing across the south, the firm entertains civic and institutional commissions, yet maintains a fine focus on residential properties. Isaac is a magna-cum-laude graduate of the University of Georgia School of Environmental Design, where he minored in Horticulture while studying under renowned plantsman, Dr. Michael A. Dirr. He started Wantland Ink after practicing for many years with Ben Page & Associates - now Page|Duke Landscape Architects. Having worked extensively across the Southeast and travelled through the hamlets, towns, and cities of several European countries, he draws on a breadth of experience to formulate unique visions for clients and architects, alike. He has also traveled internationally to provide consultation for vacation home site selection. Isaac applies the timeless fundamentals of proportion and scale with an acute attention to detail, resulting in site specific responses that foster proper contextual relationships between land and architecture. A licensed landscape architect with over 15 year's experience, Isaac is involved in every project, from inception to completion. Utilizing clear communication and possessing a positive outlook, clients and allied professionals enjoy collaborating with him. Isaac draws inspiration from the historic practices of Frederick Law Olmsted, Fletcher Steele, Sir Edwin Lutyens & Gertrude Jekyll, and is a member of The Institute for Classical Architecture and Art. Versed in architectural history, Isaac directs the surrounding landscape to "speak the language" of any style of architecture, while promoting natural harmony and stewardship of natural resources.
