Warbirds & Wheels is located at Wanaka Airport in the South Island of New Zealand and boasts the best collection of American classic cars and warbirds planes in New Zealand. Offering a glimpse into the history of these wonderful machines, it has the only Model J Duesenberg in the Southern Hemisphere, a great wearable arts exhibit and the Sir Tim Wallis story. The 1950s themed diner offers freshly baked goodies daily, a full cafe menu, great coffee and famous Warbirds pies. The retail shop stocks a large selection of American memorabilia, plane and car toys and collectables. Open 9-5pm (4pm in winter). Diner open 8.30-4.30pm. Warbirds & Wheels has four venues for meetings, conferences, events and incentive groups catering for 10-500. An inspiring and unique place to hold an event, the large hangar can cater for up to 500 guests and is the perfect venue for cocktail evenings and banquet dinners. Imagine surrounding yourself with classic cars and warbirds planes for an event to remember and you could add a vintage twist to your theme to complement the surrounding historic cars. Smaller groups can be catered for in the hangar, art room (which can seat up to 100) and diner which can be hired privately and seats around 60 for dinner. On a sunny day our garden area is the ideal spot for a group BBQ or lunch, followed by a visit to the attraction.
