The complex co-relationship between hormones, resulting from protracted stress, and poor diet habits, are a contributing factor to many diseases such as cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, lack of hunger control, obesity and some cancers.Nutrition is a complex science, not least because everybody is very individual in the way that they absorb and metabolise nutrients. Unfortunately, sensationalism of headlines that are often not based on credible evidence along with media-led food trends, leaves people confused about what they should or shouldn't eat.With a corporate background, I am well aware of the challenges that face both employees and employers in maintaining physical and mental health to optimise attendance, productivity, safety, working environment and work/life balance. There is strong evidence of an association between diet and mental health, with stress related disorders accountable for 13.5m working days lost per annum. My goal is to help employers improve the output of their people by better educating them to look after themselves from the inside out.
