WASCAL (West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Use) seeks to become one of Africa's leading science-based institution in the provision of climate services in and for West Africa. It provides information and knowledge at the local, national, and regional levels to its West African member countries to cope with the adverse impacts of climate change and devise integrated mid and long-term options to build up resilient and productive socio-ecological landscapes. WASCAL does this through (i) Training and Capacity Building to foster the emergence of new generation of scientists and experts in the fields of climate, biophysical and social sciences and (ii) by establishing a regional hub which aims at generating science-based climate and environmental services in WASCAL member countries(Togo,Benin, Ghana, Burkina-Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Senegal, Mali, the Gambia, Niger, Nigeria and Germany).
