Washington Heights Invitational is a 501©3 non-profit organization represented by Jaybie's Sports Academy, an urban basketball tournament designed to provide recreational activity for youth. Our goal is to provide learning fundamentals of the game, learn valuable life skills including teamwork, sportsmanship, and self-confidence, as well as enjoying the game of basketball.WHI will achieve its mission by hosting 50 teams in 5 divisions, all-playing for a championship in their respective division. The tournament will be held this summer in Highbridge Park, Washington Heights, NYC from June 24th, 2015 until August 31st, 2015. We are expecting a large response from our community to enhance building confidence and self-esteem for the youth.decided to initiate this tournament within the community with the hope of providing pre-teen and teens with a real and healthy alternative, where they can enhance their skills, as well as providing them with a platform to perform in basketball. In addition, this will keep them away from violence and the drug infiltrated streets of Washington Heights.
